Zambia will host the PanAfGeo Seminar on Artisanal & Small-Scale Mining (ASM) in Lusaka starting of 19th to 22nd  March 2018 atSouthern Sun Ridgeway Hotel, Cnr. Church Road and Independence Ave, in Lusaka. Hon. Richard Musukwa, Minister of Mines and Minerals Developemnt is expected to inaugurate the seminar on 19 March at 09.30 AM. The EU Head of Delegation to Zambia, H.E. Alessandro Mariani and UN Resident Coordinator to Zambia, H.E. Janet Rogan, are also expected to grace the opening ceremony. 

Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Paul Chanda recently said Zambians should take advantage of government’s new mining policies to register their firms for them to participate in the mining industry.he said this in Rufunsa District during presentation of certificates to newly formed mining cooperatives.

Government has called for prudent management of the Country’s mining industry to boost economic growth and Poverty alleviation. Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga says all the economic policies being implemented by government can only be attainable if the country effectively manage and benefits from its Mineral wealth.
