Mines and Minerals Development Minister PAUL KABUSWE has threatened to close any mine which compromises the safety of its workers by not following safety regulations.
Mr. KABUSWE issued the warning after touring MMRP, a manganese mine in Mansa District, Luapula Province, whose employees have no safety attire.
The minister says the New Dawn Administration will NOT allow any investor to abrogate safety rules adding that no life should be lost as a result of poor safety in the mines.
Mr. KABUSWE said his ministry will not hesitate to close any mine in the country that does not follow safety regulations.
