Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Hon. Richard Musukwa said there is need for the country to benefit from its mineral resources given the increase in the price of Cobalt on the London Metal Exchange (LME) in the last few months due to high demand for the commodity.
He advised the mines to take advantage of the good prices by increasing exports. He said this during his contributing to debate in Parliament in support of the 2019 estimates of expenditure to the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development.
The price of Cobalt on the London Metal Exchange is the highest at 55,000 USD per tonne while that of Copper is trading slightly over 6,188 USD per tonne.
