2025 Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Conference
Theme: Unlocking ASM Potential for Inclusive and Sustainable Development
THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING !!!

ASM dates back to 1930s when the first mineral deposits were discovered in Ndola Rural. From the early beginnings and until 1984, the area played host to numerous unlicensed mining activities.
Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) is an essential part of Zambia’s mining landscape, contributing significantly to rural livelihoods and local economies. The sector is actively engaged in mining a lot of minerals such as manganese, copper, tin, gold, emeralds, and amethyst, yet its potential remains underutilized.
ASM is not just an economic activity; it is the lifeline for millions, providing livelihoods and fostering local economic growth, particularly in rural areas.
The main objectives of the ASM Conference 2025 are to:
1. Establish a multi-stakeholder platform to foster collaboration, networking, and partnerships among ASM actors, regulators, service providers, and financiers.
2. Raise awareness on the importance of formalizing ASM operations to promote regulatory compliance and inclusive economic growth.
3. Sensitization on Mineral production, accountability, value addition and linkage to Market
4. Mineral Output Statistical Evaluation System registration and benefits
5. Promote dialogue and share knowledge on sustainable environmental practices in ASM, ensuring responsible resource extraction.
6. Enhance understanding of occupational health and safety challenges in ASM and develop strategies for their improvement.
7. Promote capacity development and encourage the active participation of women and youth in the ASM sector.
8. Taxation and significant contribution towards growth of the mining sector
9. Launch of strategies on ASM, manganese and gemstones
Sponsoring the ASM Conference positions your brand at the center of Zambia’s evolving mining landscape.
